Luis Lara serves as Vice President, Energy Strategy & Solutions for Stream Realty Partners’ Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, and Distribution platform. He advises organizations on high-performance, energy-efficient, and cost-effective building strategies. With a deep understanding of energy modeling, decarbonization, and MEP systems, he helps align design intent, operational goals, and financial performance to deliver measurable outcomes that support clients’ sustainability objectives.

Luis brings a data-driven approach to evaluating building performance, leveraging advanced simulation tools and experience across energy code compliance, decarbonization strategy, renewable energy, and climate disclosures. His work supports informed decision-making from early design through post-occupancy, helping organizations future-proof their facilities while balancing performance, cost, and risk.

Before joining Stream, Luis served as Director of Decarbonization at JLL, where he led global energy analyses and net-zero feasibility studies. His earlier work with DataBased+ strengthened his expertise in mechanical systems design, LEED certification, and building performance strategy. A recognized voice in the building performance space, Luis regularly shares thought leadership and contributes to industry dialogue on the future of sustainable buildings.

Luis is an active member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), where he previously served on the Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP) Exam Subcommittee. He is also a member of the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Technical Advisory Group for Energy and Atmosphere, where he contributes to the evolution of green building standards.
