ABB expanded its Senatobia, Mississippi manufacturing campus to increase circuit breaker production capacity supporting growing demand across industries including data centers and AI infrastructure. The project was driven by the need to transition from manual assembly lines to higher capacity automated manufacturing systems capable of increasing throughput and reducing lead times. Rather than developing a new facility, ABB chose to expand its existing campus, building upon prior investments while positioning the site as ABB’s largest manufacturing footprint in the United States.

Stream’s Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, and Distribution team supported ABB through business case development, due diligence, procurement, design and construction management, and closeout for the 198,000 square foot manufacturing and office expansion. The project required accelerated delivery, moving from project start to certificate of occupancy within approximately nine and a half months. Stream coordinated several complex infrastructure and operational challenges, including significant site grading constraints, utility and switchgear procurement, and coordinated the design to support the integration of new automated production systems into the facility. Additional coordination addressed electrical distribution and busway infrastructure designed to provide long term flexibility as automation equipment evolves and production lines are reconfigured over time.

Delivered with minimal disruption to existing operations, the expansion significantly increased manufacturing capacity while improving scalability, operational flexibility, and speed to market. The completed facility positions ABB to respond to growing demand for electrical infrastructure while supporting continued automation and long term production growth.
