As a growing, national organization expanded its restaurant footprint across the western United States, it identified the need to establish a dedicated distribution hub to support over 100 restaurants and position for long term growth. A new distribution center was developed to serve a large regional footprint while positioning the company for expansion across the broader western markets. The project represents a strategic investment in building internal infrastructure within a region that previously had limited network coverage.
Stream’s team partnered with the client to lead site evaluation for the selected site, due diligence, and full project delivery. Early due diligence identified complex environmental and geotechnical challenges, including contaminated soils and a high groundwater table encountered only a few feet below grade. Stream worked closely with environmental consultants and design partners to implement groundwater management strategies, environmental testing protocols, and mitigation systems to address vapor and soil conditions. Additional coordination aligned structural and slab design with cold storage racking systems while meeting regional seismic requirements and long-term performance goals.
The 116,100 square foot facility processes approximately 7.5 million cases annually and includes integrated cold storage and fleet support operations. Despite site constraints and technical complexity, the project was delivered on schedule and aligned with business objectives. The facility now operates as a key hub within the client’s western distribution system, improving service capability, enabling expansion, and strengthening overall supply chain performance.
